Why do we block someone?

There are many reasons to block someone but a few of them are:

  1. A person is irritating you.
  2. Someone is harassing you.
  3. Strangers to avoid that unnecessary poking.
  4. The one to whom you don’t want to show your profile picture and to let them know about you or your status.
  5. Someone who keeps sending inappropriate content to you.
  6. We sometimes block our acquaintances to protect our inner peace and to get away from past memories.
What will happen if you block someone on Whatsapp?
  1. They will not be able to see your profile picture, it will be shown as no profile picture, whereas you will still be able to see their profile picture.
  2. They will not be able to see your Last Seen, About, or Status.
  3. The blocked person will not be able to send you messages, they will just see a single tick, when they will send you the message which shows sent but not the second tick which is for delivered.
  4. They will not be able to audio/video call you on WhatsApp, the call will disconnect automatically 
  5. They are even not able to see whether you are online or not.

How to block someone on WhatsApp.

Follow these steps to block someone from WhatsApp on your android phone :
  1. Go on the chat window of the person you want to block,
  2. Click on the 3 dots on the top right corner.
  3. And then click on More.
  4. Next, you will see the Block option, click there to block that contact.

Blocking someone's number on WhatsApp does not block them on your phone, they will still be able to call or send you normal text messages if you are using an Android phone.

But this is not the case with iPhone. A blocked person will not be able to audio call you on WhatsApp, it will show him your number as Unavailable, but he will still be able to make video calls to you.

And we also unblock them once things get back to normal. Hence, blocking and unblocking is a personal choice.


How to unblock someone on WhatsApp.

You have to follow the almost same process to unblock someone:

  1. Open chat window.
  2. Tap on the utility(3 dots) button.
  3. Tap on More.
  4. Then tap on Unblock.


How to know that someone blocked you also?

  1. Your messages will not deliver to them.
  2. You will not able to see whether they are online or not.
  3. You won't be able to see their status.
  4. When you call them it will show "Calling" but not "Ringing" so that means the person is unaware of your call.
