• Also known as BB152 is developed by an Indian pharma giant named Bharat Biotech. It has 81% efficacy in dealing with coronavirus and its mutant strains.

• It has been approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research and is being used in Iran, the Philippines, Mauritius, Mexico, Nepal, Guyana, Paraguay, Zimbabwe, and India.

• The gap between first and the second dose should be 82 days.

• Bharat Biotech International Limited’s revenue is over INR 500 Cr for the financial year ending on March’20.

 

4. COVISHEILD

• Also known as AZD1222, manufactured by AstraZeneca and oxford in conjugation with Serum Institute of India has shipped the vaccine globally and is being in use in around 40 countries.

US Food and Drug Association issued an emergency use Authorization (EUA) for Moderna, allowing vaccines to be distributed in the US for individual use. The Moderna COVID‑19 the vaccine is authorized for use at some level in 53 countries, including Canada, European Economic Area countries, Philippines, South Korea, Thailand, The United Kingdom, and the United States.

• Pfizer/BioNTech the produced vaccine is known as COMIRNATY, developed in the US. WHO has approved COMIRNATY and listed it for emergency use. It is the first COVID19 vaccine approved for children between 12-15 years of age. It has an efficacy of more than 90%. The UK was the first country to approve this vaccine.
• It is approved by WHO also for emergency use. The gap between the first and second dose should be 21 days.
• The revenue earned by Pfizer in 2020 is $41.908 billion and is the biggest Pharma giant.
